If I was in AP Studio Art II, my concentration would most likely be landscapes or places. Art can be interpreted in many different ways. From people, to food and cuisine, to city life to the countryside, anything can be made into artwork. I expressed myself in this assignment by showing my love for my town and driving through Millis. For me, this could be described almost as an identity piece, because my artwork communicates my journey through the roads around Millis. I took a chance and used a new art form: Easy Carve. Although carving on the easycarve rubber, I still preferred linoleum, because I am able to see where I carved better on linoleum. However, I pushed through the project and ended up painting the easycarve at the end of the project. I also created something original with these artpieces. While anyone could have made a map of Millis and the surrounding towns, I used my geographic knowledge to put the roads on the map, which while still a bit ununique, had a very genuine feel to it. I think that the border on the second piece, and the tears on the first piece also make the pieces original.
