This project was a fun and interesting project to do. I did this project while I was finishing up my abtract fractured unity piece. During one school day, I noticed that I had been making a few small sketches in my yellow sketchbook(See right picture), which I was originally given for a zentangle class. These sketches were unconnected at first, but when I got three or fours sketches, I reflected on my drawings and noticed that they could be paired with each other. I quickly made around 8 pairs of designs over the following 2 weeks, and ened up using almost every page in my sketchbook. One particular drawing did not have a pair, and I planned to make this my focal point of the piece. I connected this to 3 other drawing, which you can see on the border of my finished product. I didn't exactly know what I wanted to do for a background, so around the mid-point of the project, I collaborated with Mrs. Haggerty an the rest of the class on how to connect the pieces together. We ran through about 3 to 4 ideas, and I decided that a cork board/police web design would fit the project best. After I made my background, I again collaborated with my peers to decide how the sketches should be put on the board. I solved this problem by using tacks. Originally I wanted to connect the pairs of pieces together with colorful rubber bands, but after seeing how they could not stretch enough, I decided to go with yarn. There were many colors and types of yarn, but in order to narrow my options, I only used 4 different yarns. After this project, I have appreciated sketching a lot more, and recently bought a new sketchbook to fill with my wonderful artwork.
