For this project, I wanted to create a design with a four letter word. I came up as a few different things, but my final word became HALF. The words are Hut, apple, little, and fence. I enjoyed this project, and working with sharpie was fun. After the project was over, I put my artwork down by comparing it to other artists' work in the class, by in reflection, I see my work as original and awesome. I think this piece, like most of my work has a part of me in it. A lot of my motivation to create artwork is seeing objects in daily life and seeing beauty in them. I see beauty in rock huts, in apple slices, and in white picket fences. I see the beauty in the "little" things too. I liked putting some of my identity into this beautiful artwork. It was also a great project because I got to work with sharpies which I don't work with in every project. I loved using this new technique! Sharpies are interesting because like paint, you can see the strokes when you make the artwork. I also liked how I made a sort of negative space of the image with the sharpie. Overall, this piece was really fun.
